Applications for the Taipei Medical University & Hospital Academic Research Awards are open from 08:00 AM Saturday, November 1 to 05:00 PM Sunday, November 30. Please make your application early!

【Research Paper Award】

Online applications for this award are open now. If you are a member of faculty or medical staff, and you wish to apply for this award, please document the required information about your research and submit a PDF file of the reprint of your published paper, patent certificate, or conference paper on the Research Paper Award Application system. All faculty and medical staff members are encouraged to make the application!

1. This award is available to online applications only. Please convert all electronic copies of the reprint of your published paper, patent certificate, or conference paper into PDF files and merge them with the IRB, IACUC or Gene recombination experiment approval letter into one file (the file size must be smaller than 5 MB, and the file name must be in English) before uploading.

2. Please log in to the Research Paper Award Application System by using your TMU E-mail(@tmu.edu.tw) account and password. For those who do not have a TMU E-mail account, please register one on the Office of Information Technology Email Account Application System.

Medical staff members from the five affiliated hospitals (Taipei Medical University Hospital, Wanfang Hospital, Shuang-Ho Hospital and Hsin Kuo Min Hospital) may register a new account under their hospital email address.

【Annual Research Achievement Award】

To recognize faculty members with excellent research practices, this university establishes the Annual Research Achievement Award; the award winner will receive a certificate of merit.

Number of awards available: 1

Criteria for review: Items eligible for application for this award are all research results (including papers, patents, and research projects published in 2025; for research projects, only those in which the applicant is the principal investigator and whose project periods starts in 2025 will be recognized), experiences of serving as a chairperson or guest speaker in international conferences, and awards received.

Please submit one copy each of the following documents: application form, full text of the paper (please attach best ranking search information), copy of patent certificate, research plan approval documents, international conference invitation letter, and award certificate (combine them into an electronic file and send to benchen@tmu.edu.tw).

【Young Researcher Award】

As recognition of young researchers’ in-depth research and prominent contribution in the academia, this university establishes the Young Researchers Award; the award winner will receive a prize of NT$ 100,000 and a certificate of merit.

Applicant eligibility: Full-time associate professors (or below) and full-time medical staff of affiliated hospitals of this university who are under 40 years old before the application deadline.

Criteria for review: Applicants must submit three representative works published within the past three years under the name of this university (original papers and research articles, excluding dissertations and not duplicates), with the applicant serving as the first author or corresponding author. Additionally, applicants must submit all research achievements (including patents published between 2023 and 2025, research projects (only government research projects where the applicant is the principal investigator are considered, with the project start date after January 1, 2023), invitations to participate in international conferences as chairperson or speaker, and awards received).

【Paper Citation Rewards】(Databases from Web of Science, Scopus, or PubMed are used only)

1. Reward for most cited paper

As recognition of faculty members whose published papers (under the TMU’s name) have received citation counts exceeding a certain standard, this university offers a monetary prize. The award applicant must be the first or corresponding author of the papers; the papers must have been published under the university’s name, published within the past 10 years (2016 onwards), and cited for at least 40 times within the past five years (2021 onwards). This reward is open to online applications only. Please convert the reprint of your published paper, proof of citation counts, and data regarding the citing articles into a single PDF file (the file size must be smaller than 5 MB , and the file name must be in English) before uploading.
