TMU Short-Term Exchange Program (TMU-STEP) provides an opportunity for students from universities around the world to study at Taipei Medical University for one or two semesters. TMU-STEP consists of a wide variety of English-taught classes in Health Sciences, such as Medicine, Public Health, Pharmacy and Nutrition.

In addition to professional courses, students attending TMU-STEP may also sign up for Chinese language courses. Some participants can choose to do independent research (lab attachment) under the guidance of a TMU faculty member. There will also be opportunities to take part in numerous traditional and contemporary Taiwanese cultural activities.

Applicants must fulfill the following requirement

1. Be officially nominated by their home institution and pay the tuition fee to their home institution, not to TMU.
2. Complete at least one semester of the home university program before they apply.
3. Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent.
4. Be proficient in English. Non-native English speakers must have a score of at least TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 5.5.
