Departments
The missions of the Department of Psychiatry are not only to teach the knowledge of modern psychiatry and clinical skill but also to enrich the student’s mind. Thus, as teachers of department of psychiatry, our visions and characters regarding the teaching focus on the integration of the latest advances in psychiatry and neuroscience, psychology, social science, and medical humanities for the purpose of understanding human behavior and treating the patients with medical or psychiatric illness. Psychiatry Faculty members are involved in teaching in all years of the medical school academic program, including the medical history, art and psychiatric disorder, medical paradigm and ethical practice, medical psychology, and psychiatry.
In terms of research, we focus on the bipolar disorder, metabolic syndrome, substance abuse, sleep and cognitive function in three university hospital and emerge much of outstanding papers published in international journal. We also established international collaboration relationship with Pittsburgh University in US, Toronto University in Canada, and Keio University in Japan for investigation regarding the aging process in major psychiatric disorders.
