To gain general perspective of common gynecological disease, including their clinical manifestation, pathophysiology, examinations, diagnosis and management, in out-patient department, surgery and ward settings. Diseases such as pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine myoma, adenomyosis, endometrial polyp, ectopic pregnancy, pelvic organ prolapse, infertility, and urinary incontinence will be included the training course.
To obtain general understating in a pregnancy course, start from early pregnancy, first, second and third trimester, to final delivery. Be familiar with the interpretation of non-stress test, high-risk pregnancy and possible adverse event, such as gestational diabetic mellitus, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia / eclampsia, nonreassuring fetal status, placenta abruption/ placenta previa, post-partum hemorrhage etc. The indications of cesarean section will also be introduced.
Be familiar with the diagnostic tools and imaging tools including trans-vaginal and trans-abdominal ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET-CT, cystoscopy, and hysteroscopy and interpretation of results.
Skills to be acquired
Capable of taking detailed medical history and performing physical examinations and pelvic examinations to support the clinical diagnosis.
To be able to produce a concise, accurate and informative admission note, post-operative note, progress note and discharge summary for a hospitalized patient.
To be able to generate a list of problems, differential diagnosis and treatment plan that is related to the patient.
Analyze current patient’s active clinical problems and be able to utilize various tools, such PubMed, Uptodate, cochrane library or different guidelines, aiding diagnosis and treatment especially when facing uncertainties, in order to provide best management

Able to interact with the patient and family, showing professionalism and empathy, yet respect their culture religion and emotional expression.
Participate actively in ward, operative room, various teaching session, morning meeting, ward round, and conference.
Willing to help and teach junior colleges.
Cooperate with other medical staffs that are working in this facility and different departments in order to provide optimal patient care service.
For Foreign clinical observer:
Clinical observer from other countries will participate together with our 5th and 6th year medical students during the rotation period.
Applicants need to be current medical students or graduates from a university or an equivalent institute in another country.
All submitted application forms must be written in English or Chinese.
Applicants need to provide health records and current immunization records in addition to proof of personal health/accident insurance with overseas coverage, or proof of national health insurance.
For safety reasons, students are strictly prohibited from making any clinical decisions or physician behavior; including inquiring or touching the patient, diagnosing or giving advised on any medical issues during the program, even if the applicant holds a medical doctor license in a foreign country.
