Program introduction | On May 11, 2016, Taipei Medical University’s College of Medicine signed a dual-degree agreement with the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions at Georgia State University (GSU) in the United States. The Master’s program in Respiratory Therapy of Taipei Medical University’s School of Respiratory Therapy admitted its first cohort of students in 2016 under the dual-degree cooperation program. In 2018, outstanding Master’s students were selected to pursue the dual-degree program at Georgia State University. After completing one year of study at Taipei Medical University and meeting the relevant academic requirements, the Master’s students in Respiratory Therapy are eligible to pursue their studies in the United States. Upon completing their academic requirements in the United States and returning to Taiwan, they are required to complete their Master’s thesis defense. Once all graduation requirements of both universities are fulfilled, the students will be awarded degree certificates from both institutions. |
Career perspective | By completing the academic requirements, students will obtain the eligibility to take the examination to become a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the United States.
